A course of constructive cooperation

The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunya Miyatovich arrived to Turkmenistan to attend the 14th Central Asian Media Conference held in conjunction with the OSCE.

Today the OSCE Representative was adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. During the meeting the subject of Exchanging views was promising directions of cooperation between our country and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, in particular through the media and the introduction to this area of advanced innovative technologies. In this regard it was noted that the study of best international practices in this area as well as improvement of national legislation governing this area are some of the key aspects of information policy of Turkmenistan aimed at further development of effective national media.

During the meeting also was discussed the agenda of the 14th Central Asian Media Conference to be held in Ashgabat on July 5-6. It was noted that the upcoming forum, jointly organized with the OSCE is intended to facilitate the expansion of mutually beneficial regional and international contacts in the media and exchange of experience in the practical application of advanced media technologies.

The same day the topic of effective cooperation between our country and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe was continued during the meetings c OSCE Representative on Freedom of the media Ms. Dunja Miyatovich held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights President of Turkmenistan where they also discussed topical issues of bilateral partnership.
