Contribution of Chinese partners to the development of the “Galkynysh” deposit

Experience of foreign companies on use of modern technologies, rendering services and delivery of equipment allows increasing the efficiency of work of oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan. One of the old foreign partners of our country in this field is the Chinese Petroleum Engineering Company - organization department of the Chinese National Petroleum Company. Director-general of branch office of the CPE in Turkmenistan Du Tunlin told about major trends of cooperation of the Chinese and Turkmen specialists:

- Availability of solid source of raw materials of hydrocarbon resources allows your country not only supporting the attained levels of oil and gas production, but also intensive diversification of productive rate of hydrocarbons from the depths, developing new oil and gas fields and deposits. Technical department of the branch office of the Chinese Engineering Company in Turkmenistan consists of specialists of 11 directions. In China, this company is one of the largest and principal design-survey, and research organization in the field of development of oil and gas areas. Range of activities covers engineering exploration, projecting, general contract, consultations, scientific research, engineering of technologies and others.

In Turkmenistan, we work since 2007, carrying out survey and design works on the contractual territory “Bagtiyarlyk” and already in 2009, the gas processing plant, which project was prepared by the specialists of the company was successfully put into operation. Our specialists also took part in realization of projects of the Turkmenistan-China gas main and gas pipelines of internal gas collection. Presently, we design a lot of subsidiary facilities.

At present, the company is engaged in design works on overland development of one part of the “Galkynysh” deposit, which includes the gas processing plant, highways, a railway, camp, fire department, gas saving service and others.

For example, the camp for 2 thousand employees, which will service the gas processing plants, includes whole infrastructure of people’s residence. The dwelling houses are fitted with split-systems “cool-heat”, hot and cold water. A sport complex, gym, trade center, medical stations, and hotel for specialists will function in the settlement.

Our specialists are also engaged in the project of the highway and detailed designing of the railroad according to the “Galkynysh” project and carry out thorough geological works of tapers of the export pipeline and gas-gathering pipelines, etc. In total, we work at over 15 projects for the development of the “Galkynysh” deposit.
