The diplomacy of spirituality
The Kunstwelt e. V. Berlin society founded in 1999 actively works under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The main purpose of the society is developing the cultural environment of Berlin, a key European capital, and providing an access to the diversity and the highest achievements of the national cultures of the world to the people of Berlin and guests to the city.
One of the most significant projects implemented by the Kunstwelt e. V. Berlin with the support of Director-General of UNESCO Ms Irina Bokova entitled “The Path of Prophets” has been launched in 2006. In fact, this project represents a long-term action that constantly widens its boundaries and is based on an unusual combination of real architecture and urban landscape with the concepts of spiritual sphere underlining the idea of the indissolubility of human being with ancestors’ heritage through the contact with the imperishable universal values.
This project is implemented in the southern part of one of the most famous streets in Berlin, its main thoroughfare - FriedrichstraГџe, which has turned into unique outdoor exposition.
This unusual museum is designed to develop the spiritual dialogue of countries and peoples, to assert the tolerance and mutual respect in the world and to advocate the principles of brotherhood and friendship, the fundamental aspects of the UN Charter. The quotations of famous representatives of national literatures of the UNESCO member states are exhibited there.
Henceforth, Dovletmamet Azadi as a historical figure, who made a significant contribution to the spiritual development of the Turkmen people, and the people all over the world will represent the spiritual culture of Turkmenistan on the alley. His sayings have attracted attention of the project organizers as they vividly reflect those humanistic ideals that formed the peacekeeping concept of “The Path of Prophets”.
According to the project designers, numerous pannos presenting the quotations of prominent figures of various peoples of the world organized into a common stylistic literary and artistic composition will create an extensive international cultural zone, which will integrate people, buildings, and spiritual heritage of the world.
Moreover, the Kunstwelt e. V. Berlin cultural society develops the virtual continuation of the project. The canonical portrait of Azadi, his brief biography and information about Turkmenistan will be presented on the web- site of the society.
As was reported, the International forum entitled “Dovletmammet Azadi and the life of the Turkmens in the XVIII century” was held in Ashgabat last week. The Turkmen delegation made a traditional pilgrimage to the burial ground of Magtymguly Fragi and his father Dovletmammet Azadi in the Gulistan Province in Afghanistan, where the international conference dedicated to the heritage of the great poets took place. Thus, it is particularly symbolic that the organisers of the Berlin project have chosen D. Azadi to convey the Turkmen people’s spiritual world.
