Participants of the 5th Asian Games arrive in Ashgabat
These days, thousands of foreign guests arrive in Turkmenistan capital to participate in the V Asian indoor and martial arts games, the grand opening of which will be held on September 17. Large-scale arrangements for the preparation of major international competitions, held for the first time in Central Asia, attracted the attention of representatives of the world sports community, spectators and fans from all over the world.
Ashgabat lives in the Asiada, the whole atmosphere of the capital is saturated with the anticipation of a great holiday, which is about to break out in a fireworks spectacular in its intensity and beauty spectacles - exciting competitions for the championship titles.
The International Airport of our capital welcomes numerous delegations of athletes from 65 countries in Asia and Oceania, coaches and professionals, representatives of national Olympic committees and the media, fans. Volunteers and a figure of amusing Alabai Vepaly, holding the national flag of Turkmenistan and the flag of the Olympic council of Asia, meet arriving with all the cordiality, in the traditions of Turkmen hospitality.
The organizers of "Ashgabat 2017" Games tried to create maximum comfort for all guests, and, first of all, for the athletes. They are located in a unique Olympic town, which has no analogues in the Central Asian region. Here they are provided with all conditions for full preparation for competitions, participation in them and recreation.
The magnificent complex includes an indoor cycling track for 6 thousand spectators, an arena for bowling, badminton and table tennis, an arena for 15 thousand spectators for game sports and gymnastics, an arena for 5 thousand spectators for all kinds of wrestling, weightlifting, fencing and boxing, a rehabilitation center, training halls for various sports, an indoor swimming pool for 5 thousand spectators and a tennis court, hotels with a press center and much more. Total - about forty sports objects and facilities. All of them are connected between each other by an air monorail road writhing like serpentine over the Olympic town
Thanks to volunteers who speak foreign languages and have received special training, athletes have the opportunity to quickly navigate the city, train and relax. Foreign journalists and fans are provided with full information on the program of upcoming celebrations and competitions.
