Turkmenistan-WHO: partnership in the name of the nation’s health

The tree-day seminar organized by the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan started in Ashgabat. The meeting spotlights the work carried out in our country to ensure control over the quality of foodstuffs, the measures taken to supply pure drinking water to local population and the issues of using the relevant international experience.

The representatives of the healthcare sector, national experts in the public catering sphere, foodstuffs certification, veterinary science, agriculture, water supply, environmental protection, etc. participate in the seminar.

International experts taken part in the seminar highly evaluated the quality and level of modern development of the healthcare sphere in Turkmenistan, underlined the scale and high paces of construction of healthcare facilities in the Turkmen capital and the administrative centers of the regions as well as the work on training highly-qualified specialists. It was noted that all necessary conditions had been created in our country to ensure control over foodstuffs and pure drinking water, and to take the disease prevention measures.

The issues of the interdepartmental cooperation, organization of work of laboratory services, system monitoring and foodstuffs quality control, their storage conditions and processing, preparation of various informative materials, aids, etc. will be considered during the seminar.
