President of Turkmenistan and UNECE Executive Secretary hold talks

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who was on a working visit to the Federative Republic of Brazil to participate in the World Conference on Sustainable Development Rio+20, had a meeting with Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, Sven Alkalaj.

An exchange of views on the approaches to building up Turkmenistan-UNECE partnership in the whole spectrum of fields, including within bilateral interstate relations with European states, and concerting efforts to strengthen peace and global security, including environmental protection, took place during the meeting.

In conclusion President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Mr. Sven Alkalaj expressed belief that the constructive dialogue between Turkmenistan and the UN Economic Commission for Europe would successfully continue and wished each other every success in performing the noble mission to ensure the wellbeing and prosperity for all people.
