Cooperation in gender issues

Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Gender Issues Ms June Zeitlin, who arrived in the Turkmen capital for a working visit, was received at the ministries and departments of our country, including the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Gender Issues got acquainted with the national regulatory and legal basis, in particular in the sphere of gender equality that reflects the main principles of the international standards in this area.

Within the framework of the meeting at the foreign-policy agency of Turkmenistan it was underlined that our country acceding to a number of fundamental conventions and treaties of the leading international organizations, had successfully fulfilled the undertaken commitments, including in the sphere of democracy and human rights.

Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Gender Issues Ms June Zeitlin was also received at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Women’s Union, the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
