A delegation from Turkmenistan, comprising representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and leading media outlets of the country, is participating in the international media forum “Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective, New Discoveries.” The large-scale event is being held from August 24 to 29 in the cities of Tashkent and Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan. The forum, dedicated to pressing issues facing the media industry, has brought together journalists, international experts, and media-industry specialists from dozens of countries.
The main part of the international event is taking place in Tashkent at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. A solemn opening ceremony of the media forum was held there. Following the ceremony, participants visited a thematic exhibition arranged in the foyer of the Center.
Alongside museum artifacts, the exhibition features projects aimed at advancing science and education, electronic versions of unique materials, as well as multimedia technologies. These technologies are being actively introduced by the Center, which has become a scientific, educational, and cultural platform of global significance.
The international media forum then began its programme. During the plenary session, speakers held detailed discussions on contemporary documentary filmmaking. Drawing on scientifically substantiated materials, participants shared their experience and identified key areas for producing high-quality historical and documentary content.
The plenary session also addressed the scientific study of historical data, challenges facing the publishing industry, and opportunities for introducing modern digital technologies. Particular attention was given to the implementation of joint projects of international significance in the media sector.
As the speakers emphasized, modern technologies play a key role in the activities of media organizations. It should be noted that Turkmenistan also attaches great importance to work in this area. At present, through the tireless efforts of Hero-Arkadag and the consistent steps being taken under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to advance various sectors of the national economy, including education and mass media, digital solutions are being actively introduced. As was noted, exchanging experience in this field is one of the key conditions for the development of the media industry as a whole.
Following the plenary session, participants discussed areas for implementing joint projects in the media sector.
The forum programme also includes creative meetings and master classes for university students studying journalism in Uzbekistan.
On August 27, the international media forum “Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective, New Discoveries” will continue its work in Samarkand. In accordance with the programme, participants will visit the city’s complex of historical and cultural heritage monuments.
The final session of the international media forum and its solemn closing ceremony are scheduled for August 28.
Representatives of Turkmenistan actively participate in international events held in various countries. This serves as clear evidence of the importance attached at the state level to the development of international and interregional relations, alongside other areas, in the fields of science, education, culture, and the mass media.
Agreements reached during high-level meetings and negotiations, as well as their practical implementation, open up broad opportunities for the development of interstate relations.
Contacts in the cultural and humanitarian sphere are an important component of this cooperation. They are essential for effectively adopting the achievements of modern science and advanced international experience.
