Turkmen-Chinese Dialogue: Science, Innovation, Development

A delegation led by Erkin Tuniyaz, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China and Chairman of the People’s Government of the region, arrived in Turkmenistan. The purpose of the visit was to discuss bilateral cooperation.

The delegation visited the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, located in the Turkmen capital. The guests were introduced to the Park’s activities, its structure, and the innovative technologies it employs.

The delegation, led by E. Tuniyaz, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China and Chairman of the People’s Government of the region, highly praised the level of equipment at the International Science and Technology Park.

As noted, the modern innovative development of Turkmenistan’s scientific and educational spheres is based on state policy successfully implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Our country is working to expand international cooperation in this area not only at the regional but also global level. It was particularly emphasized that Turkmenistan is channeling scientific achievements toward sustainable development goals.

Then, members of the Chinese delegation met with the heads of the Ashgabat city administration.

During the meeting, it was noted that, thanks to the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, as well as the leaders of Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China, active work is underway to strengthen friendly relations and expand mutually beneficial cooperation. Another example of this is the current visit to our country of the Chinese delegation, led by E. Tuniyaz, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China and Chairman of the People’s Government of this region.

Within the frame of the visit, issues related to developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China in agriculture, trade, economics, and scientific and educational spheres were discussed.

In the afternoon, the guests met with leaders of Turkmenistan’s agricultural sector, including the ministries of agriculture and environmental protection, the Türkmenpagta State Concern, and representatives of the agro-industrial complex to discuss issues on cooperation in the agricultural sector.

As noted, trade and economic cooperation is a key focus of Turkmen-Chinese relations, maintaining a stable and long-term nature. Mutual efforts are aimed at practically realizing the significant potential for cooperation.

At high-level summits and forums within authoritative international organizations, Turkmenistan regularly puts forward international initiatives aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial trade and economic relations, taking into account the realities of the time. This is due to Turkmenistan’s desire to further expand multi-vector international partnership, including with the People’s Republic of China.

The bilateral cooperation’s state and prospects were discussed at the meeting. In this context, the parties emphasized that there are all opportunities and, most importantly, a high interest in the further development of mutually beneficial relations in various fields.

As noted, one of the priority areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China is the trade and economic sphere, including the agricultural sector.

As part of the visit to our country, members of the Chinese delegation also met with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, and a number of relevant industry leaders.

It was noted that there are great opportunities for the development and expansion of cooperation between Turkmenistan and China in various fields. Particular emphasis was placed on the trade and economic sector, including the agro-industrial complex.

As noted, the bilateral partnership is carried out on the basis of the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual trust. In this regard, the parties expressed confidence that Turkmen-Chinese cooperation will continue to develop and reach new heights for the benefit of both peoples.

During the meeting, special attention was also paid to joint work on developing investment opportunities, introducing best international practices, expanding ties in the fields of agriculture and ecology, technical and technological support, developing relations in the field of transport and logistics services, etc.

Following a productive exchange of views, the parties expressed confidence in the further strengthening of friendly relations and multilateral cooperation based on the principles of trust and mutual benefit. The importance of holding such meetings and forums was emphasized. In this regard, sincere gratitude was expressed to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China for the favorable opportunities and conditions created for their organization.
