National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a general lesson at the «Ruhyýet» Palace in the city of Arkadag. In his speech to the younger generation, Hero-Arkadag highlighted the role of Ahal-teke horses as a symbol of national dignity and cultural diplomacy.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted that the Ahal-teke horse is our pride and glory, and is one of the symbols of the independence, sovereignty, and national dignity of the Turkmen people. The «paradisiacal» horses also occupy a special place in the peaceful foreign policy of the country.

Important factors in their international popularisation have been the activities of the International ahal-teke horse breeding association, the successes of the «Galkynyş» National equestrian games group, and the inclusion of the art of Ahal-teke horse breeding and horse-dressing traditions in the UNESCO Representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

At the same time, Hero-Arkadag noted that in 2026, which is held under the motto «Independent Neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged horses», a number of large-scale equestrian events are being organised in the country and abroad.
