The international exhibition and scientific conference entitled “Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State,” held in Ashgabat, served as an important platform for deepening the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.

Julia Zaiceva, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan and a representative of Rossotrudnichestvo, commented on the outcomes of the forum and promising areas for further interstate cooperation.

A key development in scientific and educational ties was the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages (TNIWL) and M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU).

As J. Zaiceva emphasized, the agreements reached between leading higher education institutions in the two countries are firmly focused on practical outcomes. In particular, under bilateral programmes, lecturers and senior-year students of TNIWL have already completed professional development courses. In addition, Turkmen young people actively participate in high-level intellectual competitions, such as the International Financial Security Olympiad, as well as specialized scientific projects in the field of healthcare.

The diplomat also announced that the next quota-based admissions campaign for young people from Turkmenistan would begin soon, noting that the application process is becoming simpler each year.

“An important milestone in the development of bilateral ties will be the launch of the next admissions campaign for quota-funded places at higher education institutions in the Russian Federation, scheduled for mid-November. This year, the admissions process is undergoing significant modernization through the introduction of modern digital solutions. In particular, the integration of a unified digital platform and the launch of the dedicated RU ID service will make it possible to automate and considerably simplify the process by which international applicants select educational institutions and fields of study,” said Julia Zaiceva.

The Rossotrudnichestvo representative also placed particular emphasis on the fact that the exhibition held in Ashgabat provided Turkmen students and their parents with a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives of Russian universities. During these meetings, prospective students were able to learn not only about educational programmes but also about the cultural characteristics of the regions of the Russian Federation where they will pursue their studies.
