Turkmen Scientist Serves as a Visiting Lecturer at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

From October 18 to 24, Maral Bekiyeva, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, is on a working visit to the Belarusian city of Grodno.

The Turkmen scientist arrived at the invitation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno as part of its “Visiting Professor” program. Her visit aims to deliver lectures, share valuable knowledge, and pass on her extensive experience to students at the Belarusian university.

It is worth emphasizing that this form of international cooperation is being implemented for the first time, with a lecturer from Turkmenistan invited by a foreign university in the capacity of a visiting professor. This event represents recognition of the high standard of Turkmen mathematical scholarship and demonstrates the trust placed in its representatives.

The “Visiting Professor” program enables Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to invite leading researchers and lecturers from other countries to participate in its academic activities. Students gain the opportunity to explore familiar subjects from new perspectives, while lecturers can exchange teaching methods and professional experience.

During her week-long visit, Maral Bekiyeva is delivering lectures to students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics. Her audience comprises future specialists studying in three fields: Software Engineering, Mathematics, and Applied Mathematics. The classes are designed to demonstrate the connection between rigorous mathematical theory and real-world problems, ranging from engineering calculations to environmental modeling.

The visit is also particularly significant for the development of international academic relations. It creates opportunities to exchange teaching experience, become familiar with different approaches to education, and strengthen professional ties between the universities. These connections provide a foundation for further cooperation, including joint scientific research and collaborative educational projects.

Participation in the “Visiting Professor” program marks an important milestone in Maral Bekiyeva’s professional career and reflects the high regard in which the scientific and teaching activities of the Turkmen scholar are held.

Maral Bekiyeva heads the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics at one of Turkmenistan’s leading technical universities. Her research interests lie at the intersection of mathematics, modeling, and modern information technology. She conducts research into the application of artificial intelligence to modeling the hydrogeological and environmental conditions of groundwater, a subject of particular importance in arid regions.

As a lecturer, Maral Bekiyeva teaches a wide range of subjects, including mathematical analysis, differential equations, mathematical modeling, probability theory, and biometrics. It is this extensive scientific and teaching experience that the Turkmen scholar has brought to the university in Grodno.

In her letter of invitation, the Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno expressed confidence that the Turkmen scientist’s visit would promote the exchange of experience and strengthen professional and friendly ties between the academic communities of the two countries.

At the same time, this initiative highlights the importance of international cooperation among lecturers and researchers, through which knowledge, experience, and new ideas transcend national borders and contribute to the shared goals of expanding the scientific and educational potential of both countries and training highly qualified specialists for the future.
