Swiss TV makes a film about Turkmenistan

Journalist of the SRF Swiss National Public Television M. Rietbrock has arrived on a working visit to Turkmenistan.

The main goal of the visit is to make a documentary film about Turkmenistan that will be included into a serial entitled The New Silk Road. The project of the Swiss National Public Television is aimed at promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Central Asian countries, in particular Turkmenistan that was located in the centre of ancient caravan routes.

The film will tell about the history and rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, the socio-economic achievements of the Turkmen state in the new historical epoch as well as will familiarize foreign audience with Ahalteke horses and natural landscapes of our country. The unique historical and architectural monuments, including famous historical cities such as Ancient Merv, Kunya Urgench, and Nisa inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List as well as ancient settlements and architectural masterpieces of Ancient Dehistan, Old Serahs, Abiverda, numerous structures along the Amu Darya River are of particular importance for the project.

The film première is expected for October of the current year.
