Tasks of museum studies were considered at the conference held in the Main National Museum of Turkmenistan. Specialists of the capital, province, etrap and urban museums, sectoral museums, scientists as well as teachers and students, studying in this specialization, became the participants of the forum organized by the Ministry of Culture of the country.

The issues of further development of the cultural sphere, improvement and modernization of the methodology of arrangement of museum studies became main topic of the conference and reports. It was noted that in the last years, the funds of the country’s museums and particularly, Main National Museum of Turkmenistan were replenished considerably. Main National Museum of Turkmenistan is not only the largest depository but also methodological center for all museums of the country.

In the course of three sectional sessions of the conference held in the Main National Museum of Turkmenistan, Fine Arts Museum, President Museum of the National Cultural Center, it was discussed a wide range of issues, including the ways and methods of preservation of exhibits, analysis of modern approaches to the museum and passport system of the cultural values.

Museums of Turkmenistan are the keepers of priceless historic-cultural property of the nation, largest scientific centers of the country. At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on January 4, having paid attention to this topic, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed to the necessity of realization of relevant work on due preservation of the national values in the museums of the country, creation in them of all essential conditions for it.
