The words ‘for the first time’ and ‘opening’ that have been often used since establishment of the Avaza national tourist zone on the Caspian Coast were crucial for the Week of Culture taken place there. This large-scale event held in Turkmenistan for the first time will be organized in one of the regions of the country every year in June. The littoral region that passes on the baton to another region coped with the role as a place of birth of a new tradition setting the high qualification level for the following events.
2013 Week of Culture included a number of various events. The most expected of the Week was a big festive concert with participation of foreign popular artists.
The concert of artists and singers from Turkmenistan and foreign countries was held on the stage in front of the Akmaya restaurant on the bank of the Avaza River. Hundreds of people including numerous guests to our country, foreign diplomats, representatives of international circles and businessmen attended the concert.
The Guest of Honour to the concert was President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Among the spectators were high ranking officials, workers of culture and art of Turkmenistan, editors of newspapers and journals as well as numerous participants of the Week of Culture.
The outdoor show stage couldn’t accommodate all those wishing, but the concert was shown on the huge monitor installed in a big amphitheater on the Caspian coast.
The concert of the popular artists from Turkey, Russia, Lebanon, China and Ukraine, including Philip Kirkorov, Ani Lorak, Sati Kazanova, Reflex, was a wonderful gift for the spectators. The artists from Lebanon, Turkey and China also participated in the concert. Participation of a US star - Jennifer Lopez in the concert aroused a storm of applause among the spectators.
The concert was broadcast on the national TV bringing together the huge audience of the Turkmen citizens near the TV screens to enjoy the festivity and see the world stars dressed in Turkmen national costumes who greeted the spectators in the Turkmen language. These ‘exclusive’ features added a unique emotional color to the concert that will stay in our memory with the energy of sincere communication and cordial relations uniting artists and sympathetic audience.
