President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which important policy issues and draft documents were considered.
The Vice Premiers presented the reports during the meeting. The information on the results of the IV Turkmenistan-Russia Economic Forum, which took place in Belgorod, Russian Federation on August 7-9, and the preparations for the forthcoming Expo-2015 in Milan was presented.
It was noted that as of today our country had established diplomatic relations with 131 countries worldwide. Turkmenistan has 33 diplomatic representations and consular offices in foreign countries. Ambassadors of our country represent Turkmenistan in this status in 13 countries more. Representatives of Turkmenistan to 23 international organisations are appointed. 34 foreign diplomatic missions – the embassies, consular offices and representations offices have opened in our country.
The reports spotlighted the progress in design and construction of bridges and motor roads in Ashgabat and the progress in seasonal agricultural activities. The detailed information on material and technical support for the projects for new railways in our country was presented.
It was noted that a gas dehydration unit with the annual capacity of 10 billion cubic metres was to be built according to the plan for the development of production infrastructure in the fields in the Bagtyyarlyk contract area, from where natural gas is supplied to the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline.
The international tender for construction of the gas dehydration unit had been held. The new facility will enable to increase tank gas deliveries from the Malai field to the transnational gas pipeline up to 30 billion cubic metres a year.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave specific instructions on the opening of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea and the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Aktau, the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The President signed the Resolution of customs duties. The document was developed in compliance with the provisions of the Customs Code of Turkmenistan and international practice in this field.
The Turkmen leader gave his blessing to the winter crop sowing campaign and suggested that the respected elders should give start to the important agricultural campaign on August 17. The President signed the draft resolution on the improvement of the procedure for selling wheat flour in the domestic market.
Approving the proposal on the establishment of the Bagtyyar dovur Closed Joint Stock Company that would produce galvanized iron products jointly with the Turkmenmasyngurlusyk Concern of the Ministry of Industry and the Alyn private company, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave specific instructions to the high-ranking officials.
The President signed the Resolution on the Electronic Library Network. The network will be created at the central libraries affiliated with the Ministry of Culture. Touching upon the issues relating to civil defence and emergency services, the President emphasized the appropriateness of their reorganization. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that they should be reorganized into the central services, which would be responsible for rendering aid to the population in emergency situations. Approving and signing the Resolutions on the Issues of Civil Defence and Emergency Services and on the Financing of the Contract for the Purchase of Railway Construction Materials, the President gave specific instructions to the high-ranking officials.
Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the government meeting.
