Speaking during the ceremony, Director of the State Museum of the East A.Sedov made a presentation of the exposition and emphasized the importance of the exhibition in developing the fruitful relations between the museum workers of the two countries. In this regard, it was noted that in 2014, the exposition of works of the prominent Turkmen painters exhibited in the largest museums in Turkmenistan will be arranged at the State Museum of the East in Moscow.

Those present got acquainted with the exposition showcased in a hall of the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. It is notable that two pictures by Nicholas Roerich "Arrows of Heaven - Spear of the Earth" and "Birches" are kept and exhibited in the museum for many years.

The painters driven by the aspiration to change the world with the help of the art moved apart the traditional boundaries of form, color and space offering their vision of the world. As is known, the Roerichs played a significant role in the large-scale study of the creative and cultural development of India, Tibet, Mongolia and Central Asia.

The landscapes, symbolic compositions and portraits by Nicholas Roerich are remarkable for saturated and unique colours, philosophy and poetry. Thus, the beauty, the human's strength of mind and the harmony with the environment are highlighted in the pictures "Yaroslav the Wise", "Svyatogor", "Mother of Genghis Khan" presented today to citizens of Turkmenistan.

The landscapes and portraits inspired by personal experiences of Svetoslav Roerich convey admirers into the world of India demonstrating the author's love for this land and its people.

The current exhibition also showcases the pictures dedicated to the theme of the eternity, the cycle of life, the unity of all existing forms on the earth, and the relationship between man and nature ( "This is a Different World", "Eternal Life", "My House", "Spring", "Sacred Flute","Woman of the Tribe Sarraj", etc.) . One of the most important themes in the artist's works is the image of his father. At the exhibition, the theme is represented by the picture "Professor Nicholas Roerich", which occupies a central place in the Ashgabat exposition and presents the mythologized image of the philosopher and chronicler.
