Days of Culture of Turkmenistan were opened in Washington – the capital of the United States of America. Cultural action will be held during a week in Washington, New York and Albuquerque - sister city of Ashgabat in the USA. The representative delegation of our country included the workers of culture and art, scientists, teachers and students of the creative higher educational establishments, journalists.

Solemn opening of the forum was held in the building of the International Trade Center named after the fortieth President of the USA Ronald Reagan.

In the second half of the day, the scientific conference “Magtymguly and his influence on the art and culture of Turkmenistan” was held here as well. Within the framework of the scientific conference, the scientists of two countries discussed vital issues of further study of productions of Magtymguly Fragi, their popularization and translation into world languages.

Upon completion of the meeting of the scientists of two countries, the reel of film telling about life of the poet-thinker, his outstanding contribution to the spiritual treasury of the national and worldwide cultural heritage was demonstrated to the American spectators.

In the final of cultural action, it was held a concert of masters of art of Turkmenistan. Its program included the performances of popular folk and variety singers, musicians, famous folk and dance groups of Turkmenistan.
