Days of Culture of Iran were opened in Turkmenistan

Days of Culture of Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan were opened in Ashgabat. Traditional action was organized by the Cultural Center of Embassy of IRI in Ashgabat and Ministry of Culture of our country.

Solemn opening of the Days of Culture of Iran in Turkmenistan and exhibition of fine and decorative-applied art of the friendly country, taking place within the framework of the action, was held in the Exhibition Hall of the State Academy of Arts. The representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and its dependent institutions, general public, diplomatic missions accredited to Ashgabat, mass media, workers of culture and art of our country, teachers and students of the creative higher educational establishments have gathered here today. The creative delegation of the friendly country included the musicians, artists, masters of national handicrafts.


Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of IRI in Turkmenistan Seyed Mohammad Musa Khashemi Golpayegani, who made a speech at the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Iran in our country, noted that the current action is another bright symbol of friendship and fruitful cultural cooperation between two countries.

Contributors at the ceremony also underlined that organization in Ashgabat of the Days of Culture of Iran will contribute to further development of professional contacts of the representatives of creative intelligentsia of two countries.

Participants have familiarized with wide exposition, which was expanded in spacious halls of the gallery of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. It has included the works of famous Iranian painters, photographers, masters of applied art –calligraphers, miniaturists, engravers, carpet-weavers, carvers on wood and stone.

Among exhibits are the bright miniatures, illustrating the productions of the classics of the Persian poetry, original sculptural compositions, and filigree handicrafts from wood, samples of traditional for Muslim east the art of calligraphy, Gobelin tapestry, national Iranian cloth, various souvenirs and many other articles, which comprise the richest culture of the Iranian people, whose history traces back to centuries.

The photos exhibited here, colorful illustrated magazines, albums, booklets, tourist folders and video films familiarize the visitors with modern Iran, its nature and altars. Among book products, there is the collection of works of Magtymguly Fragi and other outstanding Turkmen poets and philosophers published with assistance of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of IRI in Turkmenistan as well as academic and scientific-informative books.

Here, it is also possible to familiarize with the national cuisine of the Turkmen and Iranian people, taste the dishes, which recipes are passed from generation to generation.

The show of performers of Iranian folk music, who presented wonderful improvisations on topics of classic destans and old lyric tunes to the verses of the eastern poets, produced special delight on participants.

The program of Days of the Iranian culture also included different creative meetings. On February 8-10, within the framework of the cultural action, demonstration of six feature films made by the Iranian cinematographers in the last years in different genres will be held in “Turkmenistan” and “Ashgabat” cinema and concert halls. On February 8, the performance of the Iranian musical and folk group will take place in “Watan” cinema and concert hall.

The Days of Culture of Islamic Republic of Iran will complete on February 10 in “Watan” cinema and concert hall, where it will be held the closing ceremony of the action and joint concert of musical groups of two friendly countries.
