The International scientific conference "The Heritage of South-Eastern Turkmenistan in the System of the Ancient and Medieval Cultures of Eurasia" starts its work at the Avaza National tourist zone.
The solemn ceremony of opening the conference took place at the conference hall in the Arzuv Hotel.
The conference organized by the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan brought together the representatives of the largest scientific and research centres of academies and the institutions of higher education from America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Among them are the famous experts in the East, historians, anthropologists and archaeologists, experts of culture and linguists, and other specialists from the US, Russia, Germany, Japan, Turkey, Iran, the Republic of Korea, India, Norway, Peru, Tunisia, Hungary, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other countries. Scientists and graduate students of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan as well as professors and teachers of the institutions of higher education of the country represented Turkmenistan at the conference.
Speaking during a plenary session, the leading researches from Germany, Russia, Japan, India, Poland, and other countries underlined the significance of the forum in the multilateral study of the history and culture of Eurasia. It was noted that the Turkmen land was an important centre of origin of the spiritual and cultural values included into the golden fund of the world heritage. The states with all necessary conditions for the economic, trade and cultural cooperation and prosperity were established on the Turkmen land. The mighty state of the Oguz Turkmens covered with unfading glory, the Parthian Empire, dozens of legendary states of the Seljuk dynasties being recognized as the centres of the spiritual culture of the East provided a favorable atmosphere for the rapid development of sciences, flourishing the culture, arts, literature and crafts.
That is vividly proved by the results of the researches and archaeological expeditions on the territory of Turkmenistan. Those speaking during the forum noted that the impressive results of the archeological researches allow the international community to objectively evaluate the great historical way of the Turkmens and get acquainted with the national and cultural uniqueness, traditions, customs and mentality of our people, as well as to perceive their invaluable contribution to the world's scientific and cultural progress.
In the afternoon, the conference continued in three scientific sections "International Cooperation on Preservation and Study of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of South-Eastern Turkmenistan in the Epoch of Might and Happiness", "The Origins and History of South-Eastern Turkmenistan", "Development of the Ancient and Medieval Material and Spiritual Culture of South-Eastern Turkmenistan". The interesting reports on various aspects of the study and preservation of the national historical and cultural heritage were presented during the sessions.
