One of the main aspects of the state policy in the sphere of protection and restoration of the monuments of the national history and culture is cooperation with authoritative international organizations and funds, including the U.S. Ambassador Fund for Cultural Preservation. Within the last two years, the Ambassadors Fund partnered with the National Department of Turkmenistan on Preservation, Study and Restoration of the Monuments of History and Culture and the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan to preserve two medieval architectural monuments in Dashoguz Velayat.

The first project was aimed at restoring the unique monument of art of XIV century - Majolica gravestone and decorative four-sided stele of Najmeddin Kubra Mausoleum, which were ruined as a result of the collapse of a dome over the central hall more than half a century ago. The both parts of the memorial are recognized as the works of arts and a unique museum value.

The second project is a next stage of restoration of Ismamyt Ata Memorial Complex in Georogly Etrap in Dashoguz Velayat.

As is known, Ismamyt Ata and Najmeddin Kubra Mausoleum are not just architectural monuments protected by the government. Both of them are the most popular places in the northern region of the country among pilgrims and tourists. Therefore, the specialists of the Kunyaurgench State Historical and Cultural Reserve, which is included into the UNESCO World Heritage List regularly maintain the relevant infrastructure and monitor the condition of the monuments.
