Solemn opening of scale creative action – Week of Culture was held in the administrative center of Dashoguz province. As is known, this grandiose forum is held in Turkmenistan for the second time: a year ago, the events of Week of Culture -2013 took place in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”.
Gorogly square in front of Rukhiyet Palace, where original monument was set to hero of Turkmen epos – Gorogly, became the center of solemnities in honor of opening of Week of Culture in Dashoguz. Legendary hero was depicted on fast horse.
Improvised township, which can be called the town of arts, was expanded for the time of holiday. Exposition presented here tells about original traditions of the Turkmen tracing back to centuries, richest cultural heritage of our people, their art. Traditional crafts, national cloth and natural fabrics, carpets and felt mats, ceramic and jewelry articles, national musical instruments, pictures and sculptural compositions were presented at this original exhibition.
Central Avenue of “town of arts” leads to the square, where panorama to the monuments of Ancient Koneurgench is opened for guests. Excellently performed scale models of famous mausoleums and other historical edifices as well as eastern arches adorned with ornaments typical to the region are near modern stage platform arranged in front of Gorogly Monument.
Members of government, representatives of several ministries and departments, the community of the province, higher and secondary educational establishments, mass media, and workers of culture and art of the country, elders and youth have gathered there. It is possible to say that the best creative forces of the country have been united here and all trends of development of its culture and art are presented here.
In welcoming address to the participants of Week of Culture and International exhibition of arts, being organized within its framework, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that international cultural action is urged to attach additional impulse to the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties between states of the planet, playing an important role in development of constructive multisided cooperation, revelation of young bright talents.
Smaller copy of the monument “Art” set in the center of the capital’s creative township became the symbol of Week of Culture.
Solemnity was continued with festive performance with participation of masters of art of Turkmenistan, young performers – winners of various nationwide creative contests, best dance groups of the country.
In the evening, on Magtymguly square, it was held the performances of folk musicians and narrators of folk tales from all regions of the country and of course, well-known Dashoguz bakhshy.
The first day of creative forum rich in events was completed with a large festive concert held in the improvised township of arts on Gorogly square. Folk and ethnographic groups and popular dance groups, famous performers of folk and variety songs demonstrated their mastery and original art in outdoor stage platform. Experience and mastery, creative search of youth harmoniously blended in performances, which opened bright national holiday of Culture in Dashoguz.
Tomorrow, within the framework of Week of Culture, opening ceremony of International exhibition of arts will be held in the museum of history and local lore of Dashoguz province. Performances of creative groups will be continued and poetic evening will take place on the coast of Shavat.
