Days of Culture of the Republic of Turkey in Turkmenistan finish

The closing ceremony of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Turkey in Turkmenistan took place at the Palace of Mukams of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan. The cultural action was held in Ashgabat and Mary.

The large artistic delegation represented Turkish decorative, musical and singing, ballet, theatrical and cinema arts and crafts. The exhibition arranged at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan showcased a variety of trends of Turkish decorative applied arts and crafts.

Lovers of folk music and dances enjoyed the performances presented by the State Folk Dance Ensemble from Ankara and the Turkmen Dunyasy music, singing and dance group from Izmir.

The wonderful theatrical productions, including the magnificent ballet performance, which is remarkable for the original interpretation of the images and the search for new forms of presentation of the dramatic material, were performed by the artists of the State Opera and Ballet and the State Theatre of the Republic of Turkey.

The films of different genres were presented to the audience in the framework of the festival of Turkish cinematography which took place at Ashgabat cinema and Turkmenistan cinema and concert hall. The historical drama The Butterfly's Dream by Yilmaz Erdogan dedicated to the life of Turkey during the World War II and the film A Long Story by Osman Sinav about family values were demonstrated on the opening day of the film festival. The films Jolly Life by Yilmaz Erdogan and the film adaptation of Chingiz Aitmatov's novel My Little Poplar in the Red Scarf were demonstrated at Turkmenistan cinema and concert hall.


Turkish cultural and art workers visited Mary Velayat, where they performed a big concert on the stage of Kemine State Drama Theatre. The guests also visited the Mary Velayat local history museum, the Mary Velayat Library and the State Historical and Cultural Reserve Ancient Merv.

Those speaking at the closing ceremony of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Turkey emphasized that this cultural action effectively conducted the great and ancient cultures and contributed to strengthening the ties of friendship between the Turkmen and Turkish peoples united by centuries-old historical and spiritual affinities and fraternal relations.

Those present expressed their gratitude to the leaders of the two countries, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for pursuing the policy of multifaceted partnership and expanding mutually beneficial Turkmen-Turkish cultural contacts. Workers of culture and arts from Turkey thanked their Turkmen counterparts for the warm welcome and assistance in holding the Days of Culture.

The concert of friendship took place after the closing ceremony. Popular Turkmen singers, folk musicians, the Archabil group of drummers and the folk dance groups Serpai and Lachin performed together with famous Turkish musicians, singers and artistic ensembles on the stage. The concert programme included the dance compositions and songs, glorifying friendship and brotherhood, love and beauty of the homeland. The ensemble Lachin and all the dance groups participating in the concert performed the ancient Turkmen folk dance 'kushtdepdi'. The finale of the festival of friendship and creativity was the song Bagtyyarlyk aidymy dedicated to the bright present of our beloved Motherland that is open to a constructive dialogue for the name of peace and happiness on the planet.
