Group of workers of theatre from Turkmenistan took part as honorable guests in Shanghai Theatrical Student Festival. First of all, the Turkmen guests of China were familiarized with “alma mater” of Shanghai students, who chose the stage profession. Our delegation visited the township of Theatrical Academy, its educational buildings, studios for dances, stage speech as well as hostels.
Turkmen theatre workers, including the head of the National Youth Theater named after Alp Arslan Handurdy Berdiyev, chief stage director of the Turkmen Music and Drama Theatre named after Magtymguly Aynazar Batyrov, head of the State Music and Drama Theatre of Lebap province named after Seyitnazar Seydi Mekan Silapov, pointed out much common in the principles of staging of our and Chinese performances. In particular, like the Russian and Turkmen theatres, the Chinese theatre operates on system of Stanislavsky, i.e. on “school of emotional experience”. Production designer of Main Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan Maksat Annaklychev picked up many interesting ideas of designing of the stage.

Colleagues on creative shop got particular impressions from performance “Dream of Chinese girl” and tale “Cinderella”. After every viewing of the performance, it was held a discussion, where Turkmen guests also took part in.
