Personnel of Fine Arts Museum of Turkmenistan prepare for the opening in Moscow of the exhibition entitled “Melodies of Turkmen soul” to be held in the Russian capital from December 5 to 21. Exposition is organized with assistance of the specialists of the State Museum of the East and Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
This regular action aimed at activation of dialogue of art cultures of Russia and Turkmenistan, stimulation of creative mutual exchange returns us to the significant event in this field. Over four decades ago – in 1971, the exhibition of works of our seven artists was held in Moscow. They created a commotion among Russian experts on painting. They were Mamed Mamedov, Durdy Bairamov, Shamuhammed Akmuhammedov, Chary Amangeldiyev, Stanislav Babikov, Gulnazar Bekmuradov and Juma Jumadurdy.
Many art historians agreed in opinion that this “seven”, which was called by connoisseurs “the wonderful”, had great influence on formation of the Turkmen painting of next generations. Presently, 43 years later, 60 works of the artists of Turkmenistan will be presented again for Moscow specialists. Reaction of the Russian audience – the matter which excites everybody, who somehow or other have to do with the Turkmen fine art.
