The final of the youth art contest 2014 Yylyn Parlak Yyldyzy that brought together the most talented young artists, who were chosen by the huge TV and radio audience of our country, and numerous spectators, including popular singers and musicians of Turkmenistan, at Maslahat Kosgi Palace.
Yylyn Parlak Yyldyzy (the Star of the Year) is the contest among young singers and musicians that has been held for the sixth time this year. The contest is organized by the Central Council of Magtymguly Youth Organisation of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Culture and the State Committee for TV and Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography. Every year this cultural event involves talented artists from all regions of the country.
Young artists had an opportunity to take part in music programmes on Türkmen Owazy TV and radio channels. Active participation of the public, numerous telephone calls and SMS sent to the editorial boards of the national TV and radio channels helped to reveal the most popular singers who had won the sincere sympathy of the overwhelming majority of the TV and radio audience in all regions of our country. Ten participants, who had got the largest number of text message votes, participated in the final of the youth contest.
Renowned workers of culture and art, popular singers and musicians, artists, writers, poets and representatives of other creative professions were invited to take part in the final of Yylyn Parlak Yyldyzy Contest as the viewers and as the jury. Each of them could give their votes to the artist they liked most, and each vote could be crucial in deciding the winner of the acute competition.
According to the rules the singers performed two songs in the final. The participants had to sing a capella that revealed the vocal harmonies and helped them use voice to its full. The professionals could evaluate the ‘pure’ vocal of each participant, the power and beauty of their voices. Moreover, this trial allowed spotlighting the artistic skills and ability of young singers to communicate with the audience.
The final lasted for several hours, but the strong positive emotions fed the spirit of creativity that was soaring under the arches of the magnificent Palace. During the concert the audience could vote using the special cards and the jury could share their opinion of the singers’ performances. While the points were being calculated, the songs dedicated to the coming New Year, the epoch of might and happiness of the Turkmen nation were performed on the stage…
Then the presenters announced the results. The winner of the 2014 Star of the Year creative contest Nurgozel Nyyazberdieva recieved the gand prize - Yylyn Parlak Yyldyzy Challenge Cup and an incentive award. Ahmet Atajanov and Myahri Pirmedova won the first and second places respectively.
