Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia hosted the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan. The membership of the Turkmen delegation that arrived in Yerevan to hold the cultural events vividly illustrated the multifaceted character of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Armenia in humanitarian sphere. The delegation included cultural workers, scientists, artists, journalists, folk and music groups, students and teachers of art schools.
The opening ceremony took place at A. A. Spendiaryan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre – the oldest theatre in the country located in the centre of Yerevan. Representatives of public organisations, diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia, media, workers of culture and art and students took part in the ceremony.
The programme of the concert performed by workers of culture and art from Turkmenistan included wonderful folk melodies and songs, classical and pop musical compositions and dance performances.
Audience greeted concert participants, including renowned artistic groups, popular singers and famous musicians and young talents from our country with great enthusiasm. Among the performers were soloists from the National Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan, Lyale vocal group, Serpay folk group of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, Sirin Owaz musical group and popular musicians as well as young talents who have just started their career in arts.
An exhibition of works by young Armenian artists was arranged in the theatre foyer. The exposition dedicated to the Year of Neutrality and Peace celebrated in our country in 2015 was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia.
The delegation of Turkmenistan was received at the Ministry of Culture of Armenia. Meeting participants expressed satisfaction with the dynamically developing Turkmen-Armenian cultural and humanitarian dialogue and identified the promising areas for further cooperation.
The presentation of the project of restoration works on a unique architectural monument - the mausoleum of Turkmen emirs located in Argavand village took place in the conference hall of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia. The monument is the family vault of Turkmen beks of the Sadly Dynasty.
The delegation of Turkmenistan also visited Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Scientific Research on Ancient Manuscripts Matenadaran, where they got acquainted with museum collections, in particular unique manuscripts and materials, including those ones related to the history and culture of the Turkmen people.
The exposition of the Turkmen applied arts and crafts was arranged at Hovhannes Sharambeyan Folk Art Museum. It told about the traditions and customs of the Turkmen people, their unique art and cultural achievements in the new historical epoch. Within the framework of the creative event cultural workers and artists from Turkmenistan arranged performances in the cities of Vanadzor and Gyumri.
The cultural action concluded with the concert dedicated to the 20th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan and the Year of Neutrality and Peace celebrated in 2015 that was performed on the stage of H. Paronyan State Musical Comedy Theatre in Yerevan.
