The festivities to mark the forthcoming National Flag Day took place in the Turkmen capital and all the regions of the country. The news that according to the latest election results, an overwhelming majority of citizens of Turkmenistan voted for Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his strategy of progressive reforms and innovative development added solemnity to the festivities.

The Turkmen people demonstrated the indissoluble unity and solidarity and civic activity by participating in the ongoing process of democratic reforms in Turkmenistan. This idea interlaced with the significance of the forthcoming celebrations in honour of the National Flag Day, a sacred symbol of unshakable sovereignty of the Motherland run all through the festivities organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan in a solemn atmosphere at the theatres and concert halls in the Turkmen capital.

The national unity and enthusiasm reigning across the country today and the unceasing concern for the younger generation in the Turkmen state are reflected in the theatrical performances My Beloved Motherland – Turkmenistan! presented at Magtymguly Turkmen National Music and Drama Theatre and All Roads are Open for Students! presented at Mollanepes Turkmen Students Theatre.

The age-old traditions and customs of the Turkmen people, everlasting beauty and generosity of the native land and the reforms taking place in our country that became some kind of ‘visit card’ of the new historical epoch were reflected in the theatrical performances.

The Turkmen Puppet Theatre invited the young spectators to the performance Melodies of the Happy Generation! and a meeting with theatre actors.

The festive concert entitled Reforms Bring Fame to Our Motherland! was performed at the Watan Cinema and Concert Centre, and the State Circus of Turkmenistan invited the spectators to the festive concert entitled The Revived Country Rejoices!. Artists and cultural workers glorified the achievements the Turkmen people had gained in the epoch of great reforms.

The theatrical performances entitled Our Independent Country is Beautifying! and Where the Dreams Come True were presented at A.S Pushkin State Russian Drama Theatre.

Our Green Flag is My Honour and Dignity! is the title of the theatrical performance presented by the artists of Alp Arslan Turkmen National Youth Theatre. The prominent Turkmen artists glorified the green flag of the Motherland that is an embodiment of the centuries-old dreams of the Turkmen people of sovereignty and evidence for the establishment of the lofty values of patriotism, high morality and spiritual revival of the nation in our minds.

The Main Drama Theatre invited the spectators to the performance entitled Let the Peaceful Flag Fly! The festive programme included the literary composition prepared by theatre actors and the episodes from popular performances.

The performances were dedicated to cooperation of our country with different countries of the world and the constructive foreign and domestic policy pursued by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the basis of the lofty spiritual and moral values, humanistic ideals and democratic traditions of the nation that had stipulated the social, economic and cultural progress of the Fatherland.
