First issue of Culture Journal

The first issue of the Culture Journal appeared in print. The new periodical is established in accordance with the Resolution of President of Turkmenistan with the view to promote the cultural sphere and the mass media.

The new edition begins with the Turkmen leader’s address to the editorial staff and readers. The President of Turkmenistan particularly expresses belief that the new journal “will play an important role in promoting the achievements the Turkmen people have gained in the spheres of culture and arts, promoting spiritual revival of the nation and broadening youth’s cultural outlook…”

The article …The Turkmen People’s Fate Rises tells the readers about the ceremony of inauguration of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This event has gone down into modern history of the Turkmen people as a landmark marking the irreversibility of the democratic changes in the country that has achieved remarkable achievements for the past five years in the cultural sphere that transforms our life and serves as the means for self-realization of an individual as well as an inexhaustible source of social innovations as well.

Two reviews of the books The Good Name is Imperishable and The Living Legend by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov have a special place in the issue.

The title of the article Turkmenistan is the Country of Museums spotlights its subject-matter and content. The reflections of the diva of Turkmen opera about the art serving as the means of spiritual comprehension of the world and the artist’s role and contribution to the artistic and figurative adaptation of the reality are permeated with the deep philosophical understanding and feelings.

the issues contains the interviews with People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Jemal Saparova and the winner of the 2011 Star Song Contest Atajan Berdyev who share their views on the national school of the vocal art as the singer known well outside our country and the young artist who has just begun his career.

The interesting materials about the role of the national culture in spiritual revival of the Turkmen people, the current state and prospects of Turkmen film industry, the history of the national music as a harmonious part of world musical art and delicacies of Turkmen cuisine prove that the notion ‘culture’ is used to designate the critical aspects of development on the infinite way of human cognition.

The traditions as an essential element of culture are a universal form of social inheritance. Nowadays the traditions which are unchangeable in their essence are interpreted in a new way and enriched and transformed in the spirit of the times as it is illustrated by the age-old jeweller’s art and national costume of the Turkmen people. These are the themes of the informative articles presented in the first issue of the Culture Journal that will have the wide readership as it is published in Turkmen, Russian and English.
