Two Turkmen universities entered the THE Impact Rankings-2022 for the first time

The International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev and the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan for the first time placed on the lines of the global impact rating THE Impact Rankings-2022.

Every year since 2019, the rating has been conducted and published by the British organization Times Higher Education (THE). THE Impact Rankings is the only global performance table that ranks universities against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ranking measures the success of universities in achieving the 17 UN SDGs and the socio-economic impact of higher schools in the world. Universities can provide data for any of the 17 purposes. The overall ranking includes universities that provide data on SDG 17 (partnership to achieve the goals) and at least three other SDGs. The final score of the university in the overall table is calculated by combining its score for SDG 17 with the top three scores from the remaining SDGs.

International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakaev was rated by international experts on the achievement of SDG 4 (quality of education), SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy), SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), SDG 17 (partnership to achieve goals).

The Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of the country is noted for the implementation of SDG 1 (no poverty), SDG 4 (quality of education), SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth) and SDG 17 (partnership to achieve goals).

The fourth edition of the Impact Rankings-2022 includes 1,406 universities from 106 countries. The number of participants in the Impact Rankings is growing significantly every year, as more universities seek to demonstrate their commitment to achieving the SDGs and join THE Impact Rankings, an authoritative global ranking table. The rating encourages participants to demonstrate rapid growth in achieving the SDGs, introduce new techniques and effectively improve measures in this direction, providing the organizers with clearer and more open evidence of their development.

As part of the implementation of the UN SDGs, multifaceted work is being carried out in our country, high-quality and effective steps are being taken. Dynamically, in accordance with world standards, the national education system as a whole is being improved and developed, thanks to which Turkmen universities are increasingly taking positions in the prestigious world ranking tables.

The Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics has previously been noted in the ratings of the British organization THE. For the oil and gas university, this is the first, starting victory on the site of world rankings. The achievements of our universities testify to their large-scale and productive activities, which, undoubtedly, will be highly appreciated by international experts more than once.
