The International festival “Theater art of the happy epoch” started in the Turkmen capital.
The delegations representing eleven countries, including US, Turkey, China, India, Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Sudan arrived in the Turkmen capital to take part in the big festival of the theater art organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
The festive procession of all participants of the cultural event representing the cultural traditions of their countries anticipated the ceremony of opening the festival. The bright parade colored with the patterns of the original national costumes took place at the square of the National Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. Then, the festivity continued at the building of the Palace of Mukams, where the official ceremony of opening the festival took place. The heads of the sphere of culture and art, representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the diplomatic corps and international organisations accredited in our country, local citizens, workers of culture and art, students and journalists attended the ceremony.
The big concerts held within the framework of the ceremony started with the presentation of the song composed especially for the theater forum in Ashgabat. The artistic delegations of the countries participating in the festival took part in the concert.
Four performances were arranged within the first day of the festival. The Russian actors of the Ognivo Mytishchi Puppet Theater presented the performance entitled “Tomorrow has started yesterday” at the Turkmen State Puppet Theater. The Barpy Jelalabad Regional Drama Theater (Kyrgyz Republic) presented the performance “White Ship” at Alp Arslan National Youth Theater. The Main Drama Theater of Turkmenistan performed the play entitled “Continuation of life”. Magtymguly Theater in Ashgabat welcomed the actors of Husein Arablin Sumgait Region Azerbaijan State Musical and Drama Theater, who performed the play entitled “Pilgrim”.
