A creative event commemorating the 85th anniversary of the birth of people's writer and State prize named after Magtymguly laureate Gurbannazar Ezizov was held at the State children's library of Turkmenistan named after Bazar Amanov. The event was attended by library staff and invited guests, including the eldest daughter of the poet, Yazgul Ezizova, editor of the magazine «Gurluşyk we binagärlik».
A refined and deeply sensitive lyricist, Gurbannazar Ezizov is known as the «poet of spring and autumn». He was born on the first day of spring, in March, and tragically passed away in the autumn, at the age of only 35. Despite his short life, he left behind a significant literary legacy. His poems are imbued with the beauty and generosity of his native land and reflect the life and destiny of the Turkmen people.
The creative legacy of the poet continues to warm the hearts of people today. The younger generation is actively studying his poetry, and the National music and drama theatre recently presented a production dedicated to his life.

Reminiscing about the life and work of the poet, the meeting participants noted his unique gift for expressing the thoughts of his generation with insight and metaphor. Particular attention was paid to his friendship with the outstanding composer Nury Halmamedov, who wrote music for most of poems of Ezizov.
The secret of enduring fame of the Gurbannazar Ezizov lies in the profound philosophy of his work and the diversity of his poetic imagery. Composer Danatar Hydyrov is also the author of many songs based on the poems of the writer.
The cultural program was highlighted by a performance by students from the Turkmen national conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva, who skillfully performed poems accompanied by the dutar. At the conclusion of the event, guests were presented with a new edition of the collection of poems of the poet. It is worth noting that the anniversary year will be marked by a series of creative meetings, seminars, and cultural events held in libraries and educational institutions across the country. This series of events will culminate in November, when Turkmenistan will host a large-scale song and music celebration dedicated to the 85th birthday of people's writer.
