Ashgabat’s “Kopetdag” has retained the title of Turkmenistan futsal champion. The Ministry of Internal Affairs team achieved this success ahead of schedule — four rounds before the end of the national Super League — by crushing TCOR 14–2 in the 16th-round match.
With this victory, “Kopetdag” reached 40 points and became unreachable for all other competitors.
“Kopetdag” has now become the champion of Turkmenistan for the fifth time, with the last four titles won within the framework of the country’s Super League. 39-year-old head coach Parakhat Garaev led the team to this success for the second consecutive year. Congratulations are also due to Shokhrat Durdyyev, who has served as the futsal club’s manager since 2018.
The silver and bronze medals will be contested in the remaining four rounds by three teams — “Ahal” and “Denizchi”, sharing 2nd and 3rd places with 25 points each, and “Senagatbank”, which trails them by four points.
In the 16th round, “Ahal” lost 2–5 to the former Turkmenistan champion “Denizchi”, while “Senagatbank” unexpectedly fell 2–4 to “Migration”, which occupies fifth place with 18 points. The standings are rounded out by TCOR, sitting at the bottom with 7 points.
The 17th-round matches, which will mark the beginning of the final Ashgabat stage of the Turkmenistan Super League, will take place on November 3. The first game of the day at the sports complex of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports will feature “Migration” vs. TCOR. Next, “Senagatbank” will play “Ahal”, and the round will conclude with a match between “Kopetdag” and “Denizchi”.
