Kawasaki Heavy Industries, LTD ready to implement major projects in Turkmenistan

Tomohiro Takashina, Director of the Representative Office of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, LTD in Turkmenistan, speaking at the International Conference “Development of the Construction, Industrial, Chemical and Energy Sectors of Turkmenistan” (CIET 2025), announced the company’s readiness to implement the second phase of the plant for the production of environmentally friendly gasoline from natural gas.

The businessman recalled that the company has been operating in the Turkmen market for more than 20 years. Tomohiro Takashina expressed his gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for strengthening interstate dialogue and expanding business cooperation between Ashgabat and Tokyo.

The head of the company described the gasoline production plant from natural gas (GTG-1), built in Ahal velayat, as the most grandiose project that has become a model of cooperation.

“Its output is environmentally friendly gasoline. The fuel contains no harmful or polluting substances and meets the Euro-5 standard. Thus, Turkmenistan, possessing colossal volumes of natural gas, processes it domestically, turning it into gasoline — a product of significantly higher value. The GTG-1 plant’s products are successfully exported to neighboring countries and to Europe. Due to its high quality and standards, eco-gasoline enjoys strong demand,” said the forum delegate.

Tomohiro Takashina also noted that in today’s rapidly changing world, the role of Turkmenistan, with its stability ensured by permanent neutrality and rich natural resources, has become more significant, important, and correspondingly attractive to business with its opportunities.

“In connection with the great success of the first technologically complex GTG-1 project and the extensive experience gained, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, LTD reaffirms its commitment to implement the second complex of the plant — GTG-2, with the participation of Rönesans and ITOCHU. We are confident that the GTG-2 plant will multiply the achievements of the first GTG plant and become a symbol of close and reliable cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan,” stated Tomohiro Takashina.
