The subsidiary of the Federal Autonomous Institution “Russian Maritime Register of Shipping” (RS) in Turkmenistan presented a wide range of services and areas of activity at the XVIII International Exhibition and Scientific Conference “Türkmentel-2025” and at the International Conference and Expo “International Transport Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2025” (ITTC-2025).
The Head Office of RS, whose history dates back to 1913, is located in St. Petersburg, and its extensive network of branches includes, in particular, China, South Korea, the UAE (Dubai), Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan. The main mission of RS is to oversee the safety of transport facilities and structures operated at sea, including ships and offshore platforms.
The RS subsidiary has been actively operating in Turkmenistan since 2012.
“Our office is located in the city of Turkmenbashi. The local branch carries out technical supervision of the local fleet and cooperates with companies and enterprises operating in Turkmenistan and the maritime sector,” says company representative Soyunmamet Mamedov. “One of our unique services is the issuance of certificates to manufacturing enterprises, logistics companies, and laboratories providing various types of services to ships and offshore platforms.”
The certification process requires the enterprise to submit documentation confirming compliance with RS special regulations, to conduct a practical demonstration of services, and to organize personnel training. Only after full compliance with all requirements is an official certificate issued. In this way, the company’s activities serve as a guarantee of the reliability and competitiveness of the Turkmen fleet.
The participation of RS’s subsidiary in “Türkmentel-2025” and ITTC-2025 highlights the strategic role of technical supervision in the development of regional transport corridors.
