Twenty female footballers will represent the Turkmenistan national team at the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) U18 Championship of Women, which starts today in Tashkent.
The tournament brought together five teams of the women from Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, who will compete in a round-robin format to determine the champion.
Our compatriots will play their first match against the Tajikistan team, and then they will play against opponents from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Iran.
The tournament, in which the Turkmen football team of the women will compete under the guidance of head coach Boris Borovik, will conclude on the 29th of November.
The Central Asian Football association (CAFA) was founded and officially approved by the Asian football confederation in 2014. It unites the football federations of six countries: Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
