From November 25 to 27, the Turkmen Logistics Association, with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) within the framework of the “Trade Facilitation in Central Asia” project, conducted a series of training sessions titled “Specialized Logistics 2025.”

The lead trainers — Svetlana Mammedseiyidova, Anna Titova, and Karmela Nadji-Alikperova — shared their expertise, explaining the nuances of cargo classification, the specifics of labeling and selecting transport, as well as the routing of cargo that requires a special approach.

Over the course of three days, participants studied international standards for handling dangerous and special cargo. Attention was given to safety during loading, unloading, and transportation, as well as compliance with all regulatory requirements and rules.

The trainers provided concrete examples from their own practice, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of the specifics of working with dangerous cargo, such as large volumes of perfumery products or frozen goods transported with dry ice — tasks that require high responsibility and precise decision-making.

A special focus in the program was placed on minimizing risks associated with the transport of dangerous goods and adhering to the requirements of international agreements such as ADR (the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road). Practical aspects of route selection, choosing appropriate vehicles and cargo packaging, as well as environmental standards affecting logistics decisions, were discussed.

The modular program included group work, practical demonstrations, case studies, and scenario modeling, allowing participants to reinforce their knowledge in conditions close to real-life situations. Participants also familiarized themselves with advanced practices of Turkmen freight carriers aimed at minimizing risks and improving efficiency when handling cargo that requires a special approach.

The training program was developed with the active participation of the Turkmen Logistics Association and Rustam Bekmuradov, the national consultant for the GIZ project.

The event was aimed at improving the professional skills of transport and logistics companies that are members of the Association, as well as developing competencies in handling special cargo. Upon completion of the training, participants received certificates confirming their enhanced qualifications and expanded competencies in the field of specialized logistics.
