Three boxers will represent Turkmenistan at the World Championships, which start on the 4th of December in Dubai (UAE), and run until 13th of December under the auspices of the International Boxing Association (IBA).

In preparation for this tournament, best boxers of Turkmenistan held training camps in Uzbekistan, following which the roster of team  was determined.

According to the Boxing Federation of Turkmenistan, 25-year-old Yhlas Gylychjanov will represent our country in the lightweight (60 kg) category. He began competing internationally in 2017 at the age of 17 and competed in the 2018 Asian Youth Championships in Bangkok under the auspices of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC).

Twenty-three-year-old Bayramdurdy Nurmuhammedov will take to the ring in the 71 kg welterweight division. Over the past two years, he has won several international tournaments, including in Kazakhstan, Belarus, and other countries, and in 2023, he won a bronze medal at the 19th Summer Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

In the super heavyweight category (over 92 kg), 24-year-old Dovlet Yslamov, who passed a good test of strength this year at the international tournament in memory of Sagadat Nurmagambetov in Kazakhstan, has been included in the national team.

The total prize fund for the IBA World Championships will be $8.32 million, distributed among the 104 best boxers in the world. Gold medalists will receive $300,000 each, silver medalists $150,000 each, and bronze medalists $75,000 each. 5 place quarterfinalists will receive $10,000 each.
