Students from higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan demonstrated outstanding results at the International Mathematics Olympiad (BIMO-2026) and the International Chemistry Olympiad (BIChO-2026), which were held at Bukhara State University from January 25 to 28.

Overall, following the results of the Olympiads, students from Turkmenistan’s universities won a total of 46 medals—17 gold, 17 silver, and 12 bronze.

More than 500 students and over 100 teams from more than 10 countries took part in these major intellectual competitions, including Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Jordan, and Tajikistan.

The Olympiads consisted of individual and team rounds, during which the best students and strongest teams from leading universities around the world competed in solving the most challenging problems in key areas of higher mathematics and chemistry.

As part of the Olympiads, productive meetings were held among professors and faculty members of the participating universities to exchange advanced experience in teaching methodologies in the exact sciences at the higher education level. In addition, engaging excursions to historical monuments and landmarks of Bukhara were organized for the participants.

The triumphant success of our students at the international BIMO-2026 and BIChO-2026 Olympiads once again demonstrated the high intellectual potential of our youth, the level of training of future specialists, and the quality of national education.

For the students themselves, participation in the Olympiads became an unforgettable and significant event, providing an excellent opportunity to showcase their abilities at the international level, get acquainted and establish connections with students from other countries, and make new friends who share common interests.
