Turkmen students won awards at an international science competition in Thailand

Students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan successfully participated in the World Youth STEM Invention and Innovation Competition 2026 (WYSII 2026), which was held from 29th of January to 2nd of February in Bangkok, Thailand.

Jeyhun Jumashov and Baynazar Muhammedov, students from the Institute of telecommunications and informatics of Turkmenistan, presented a joint scientific project at the competition called «HeartStep - a project for developing initial communication skills».The development by young scientists was highly praised by international experts. Jeyhun and Baynazar were awarded the «TOP 5 Awards Gold medal» and the «Best presentation award».

Students of the Turkmen agricultural University named after S.A.Nyyazov, Muhammetali Hangeldiyev and Yhlas Gurbanov, presented a scientific project called «Observer», aimed at improving the quality of textbooks and eliminating errors. The innovative project was also recognised by the jury, and its authors were awarded the «Special prize» and the «Gold prize» of the competition.

The high achievements of Turkmen students are a clear testament to the enormous attention paid in Turkmenistan to the development of science and education, the high-quality training of future specialists, the support of innovative initiatives of young people, and their active and worthy participation in the global academic and scientific community.

It should be noted that the WYSII global competition is one of the most prestigious and significant events in the world of science and technology, as well as an effective annual platform for consolidating innovative ideas from talented young people from around the world, aimed at overall sustainable development.

This year, the competition attracted 715 students and 232 research teams from countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Italy, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Mexico, and Turkmenistan.
