On 4–5 February 2026, the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan M. Astanagulov took part in the Second B5+1 Business Forum held in the city of Bishkek. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

The forum brought together representatives of government agencies and business communities of the Central Asian countries and the United States of America with the aim of expanding trade-economic, investment and technological cooperation.

During the events, the Turkmen side emphasized Turkmenistan’s interest in the active development of mutually beneficial partnership within the B5+1 format, noting the significant potential of Central Asia as a dynamically developing market with favorable conditions for the implementation of joint investment projects. Particular attention was paid to the structural economic reforms carried out in the country, the improvement of the business environment, and the development of the digital economy, energy sector, transport and logistics infrastructure, as well as other key industries.

On the sidelines of the forum, representatives of Turkmenistan participated in a roundtable discussion with representatives of the U.S. business community. The discussions addressed issues of macroeconomic development, economic diversification, private sector support, improvement of trade procedures, development of transport and logistics corridors, and the country’s progress toward accession to the World Trade Organization.

A bilateral meeting was also held with Rebecca Hunter, Director for Global Licensing and Market Development of Starlink at SpaceX. The negotiations focused on prospects for cooperation in digital technologies, telecommunications, and the introduction of advanced satellite communication solutions. Mutual interest in further development of long-term mutually beneficial cooperation was confirmed.

Turkmenistan’s participation in the forum reaffirmed the country’s commitment to developing open and mutually beneficial international cooperation, strengthening business ties, and promoting joint initiatives aimed at sustainable economic development of the region.
