The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to New Zealand, A.Bayramov (with residence in Tokyo), participated in state events dedicated to celebration of New Zealand’s National Day – Waitangi Day, celebrated annually on February 6. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.
During working visit, A.Bayramov held several meetings with high-ranking state officials to discuss further strengthening Turkmen-New Zealand relations.
During the meeting with Her Excellency Cindy Kiro, Governor-General of New Zealand, the Ambassador conveyed warm congratulations on behalf of the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on the occasion of Waitangi Day and invited Governor-General to visit our country at her convenience.
During the visit, Ambassador also met with Winston Peters, Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, H.Todd McClay, Minister of Trade and Investment of New Zealand, and representatives of the Parliament of New Zealand. At the meetings the further development of political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian relations between Turkmenistan and New Zealand were discussed .
The parties agreed to explore the possibility of holding first political consultations between the foreign ministries of two countries, promoting interparliamentary cooperation, exploring the possibility of establishing intergovernmental commissions on economic cooperation, and organizing bilateral visits.
