A course for prosperity: Turkmenistan summed up the results of 2025 and identified future objectives

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of socio-economic development of the country. As stated, the year 2025, which was held under the motto «International year of peace and trust», was a period of significant achievements and stable growth for Turkmenistan.

Thanks to systemic reforms and the selfless work of the people, it was possible to maintain the high pace of development of the country. The key indicator of success was the growth of GDP, which amounted to 6.3%.

In the same vein, growth dynamics by sector were noted. In the industrial sector – 1.8 percent, in trade – 9.6 percent, in agriculture – 7 percent.

An important social outcome of the year was the creation of about 7 thousand new jobs at large and medium-sized enterprises in the country.

2025 was the year of large-scale construction. At the expense of all sources of financing, 116 industrial and socio-cultural facilities were put into operation. Special attention was paid to the housing issue: 645 thousand square metres of housing were commissioned. The implementation of an innovative project has also continued – the construction of the second stage of the first «smart» city of Arkadag of the country.

Agriculture has shown excellent results: the dayhans have harvested rich harvests, securing the domestic market and strengthening the food security of Turkmenistan. In parallel with the economic successes, active work was carried out to improve the legislative framework country and introduce modern legal norms.

Concluding the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov outlined the priority tasks for 2026. The main focus will be on further improving the well-being of citizens, industrialisation and digital transformation of the national economy.
