In the Lebap velayat of the country, it is planned to plant potatoes on an area of 1400 hectares in the current agricultural year and obtain a harvest of 19 thousand 600 tons. This means that the yield per hectare will be 140 centners. All districts of the region prepared responsibly for the important season: areas for this food crop were identified in advance and entrusted to experienced farmers.

Evidence of thorough approach of the velayat to this task is the selection of high-yielding potato varieties that have undergone testing and are suitable for the soil and climatic conditions of the region, as well as the organised start of sowing within the established timeframe.

Currently, potatoes are planted daily on approximately 75 hectares. To date, the total area of sown land in the velayat has exceeded 670 hectares, which is approximately 50% of the total plan. When planting according to agricultural technology requirements, 2800 kilograms of seed potatoes are used per hectare. It is worth noting the significant contribution of the Charjev, Danev and Sayat etraps to the formation of a rich potato harvest: in these regions, 380, 300 and 200 hectares, respectively, are allocated for the crop.

In the eastern region of the country, the sowing of spring onions has also begun in an organised manner. At the moment, about 80 hectares are sown daily, and the total area of crops in the region is close to 600 hectares. The hardworking dayhans of the Dovletli etrap, where 260 hectares are allocated for this crop, the Charjev (250 hectares), Kerki and Danev etraps (100 hectares each) strive to make a worthy contribution to obtaining a rich harvest of onions throughout the velayat.

The work carried out in the agro-industrial complex of the region confirms that Lebap farmers are successfully implementing state programs for the production of agricultural products.
