During his visit to the United States, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, spoke in an interview with the Al Arabiya television channel about Turkmen–American business cooperation, emphasizing its strategic and long-term nature.
Hero-Arkadag cited impressive figures: over the years of cooperation, hundreds of projects involving American businesses have been implemented or are currently underway in Turkmenistan. Their total value amounts to approximately 45 billion U.S. dollars.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people highlighted key companies that have been successfully operating in the country for decades, covering sectors such as energy, transport, agriculture, and the food industry. Among them are Boeing and Sikorsky, John Deere, Case, and Caterpillar Inc., General Electric, Coca-Cola, and others.
A special role in strengthening economic ties is assigned to the Turkmen–American Business Council, established in 2008 at the initiative of the Turkmen side. Today, this format of cooperation has become the main mechanism for identifying new areas of mutual interest.
“It is obvious that the mutual potential can be utilized much more broadly. First and foremost, this concerns the diversification of Turkmenistan’s economy, the wide introduction of high-tech production, as well as the implementation of large-scale national and international infrastructure projects,” said the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
Hero-Arkadag also placed special emphasis on the real prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
“We see enormous prospects in attracting American investment and technology for the development of innovative and science-intensive industries in Turkmenistan. We also note significant potential in such areas as electric power engineering, computer and logistics services, education, and professional training,” emphasized the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
