The Moscow state linguistic university (MSLU) hosted a meeting of leadership of the university with Serdar Durdyyev, adviser to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation.

The key topic of the meeting was the expansion of the presence of the Turkmen humanitarian agenda in the curricula of the leading linguistic centre, which is the Basic organisation for languages and culture of the CIS member states.

In particular, it was announced that MSLU plans to include the Turkmen language in the list of basic educational programs. This means that in the future, Russian and international students will be able to study it at a professional level as a primary or second foreign language.

The parties discussed the prospects of opening a Centre for the Turkmen language and culture at MSLU, which will become a platform for teaching, holding cultural forums and creative meetings, as well as further expanding and strengthening humanitarian dialogue, educational and scientific ties, and friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that about 40 foreign languages are taught at Moscow state linguistic university today, including the main European and Eastern languages, as well as the languages of the CIS and Baltic states.
