The first trophy of 2026—the Turkmenistan Football Federation Cup—was won by FC “Arkadag”. The team coached by Vladimir Bayramov achieved this success by defeating “Shagadam” from Turkmenbashi 2–0 in the final.

The match took place at the central arena of the Ashgabat Multifunctional Stadium.

The scoring was opened as early as the 3rd minute by 25-year-old newcomer Meylis Diniyev, who last season played for “Kyrgyzaltyn” from Kara-Balta, Kyrgyzstan. The victory of the reigning three-time champions of Turkmenistan was sealed in the 61st minute by the top scorer of the last four national championships, Didar Durdyyev.

FC “Arkadag” won the Turkmenistan Football Federation Cup for the second consecutive year. Last year the club captured this fourth-most significant national trophy for the first time, winning the tournament—played in a single round—in Babarap gengeshlik of the Gokdepe etrap with the participation of six top-league clubs.

The bronze medalist of the Turkmenistan Football Federation Cup 2026 was “Ahal”, which defeated “Ashgabat” 2–0 in the match for third place. The fate of the bronze medals was decided late in the game: Ashyr Jumadurdyyev scored in the 79th minute, and two minutes later an own goal by Mergen Nurlyyev set the final score in favor of the team representing the Main Directorate of “Turkmennebitonumleri”.

Eight teams competed for the Turkmenistan Football Federation Cup 2026. At the first stage they were divided into two groups. In Group A, the clubs “Kopetdag”, “Ahal”, “Shagadam”, and “Nebitchi” competed for two semifinal spots. In Group B the contenders were “Arkadag”, “Ashgabat”, “Merv”, and the Turkmenistan U20 national football team.

In the semifinals, “Arkadag” defeated “Ahal” 2–1, while “Shagadam” overcame “Ashgabat” 1–0 to reach the final.

Fifth place in the tournament went to the Turkmenistan youth national team (under 20), which defeated the capital’s “Kopetdag” in a penalty shootout after a 2–2 draw (5–3 on penalties).

In the match for seventh place, Balkanabat’s “Nebitchi” defeated Mary’s “Merv” 3–1.
