Iran’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan thanks Ashgabat for humanitarian assistance provided to his country

On March 16, the Ambassador of Iran to Turkmenistan, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, held a press conference for media representatives dedicated to the current state of bilateral relations and humanitarian cooperation.

Opening the event, the head of the diplomatic mission expressed deep gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Government of the country for the humanitarian aid provided. The Ambassador also warmly congratulated the leadership and the brotherly people of Turkmenistan on the upcoming holidays — Eid al-Fitr (Orazа Bayram) and Nowruz.

“Relations between Iran and Turkmenistan are a model of good neighborliness. Our cooperation is developing in a spirit of friendship and genuine partnership,” the diplomat emphasized.

The head of the diplomatic mission also highlighted key aspects of cooperation and the effectiveness of the humanitarian corridor.

“Turkmenistan has not only sent its own assistance to Iran but has also ensured the prompt transit of humanitarian cargo from other countries. Four main border crossings along the shared 1,200-kilometer border operate in close partnership, playing a strategic role in freight transportation for the entire Central Asian region,” said the Ambassador.

Special attention was given to the issue of repatriating citizens. Due to temporary restrictions on the use of Iran’s airspace, land routes through neighboring countries became the most accessible option. Iranian tourists and citizens who were abroad for personal reasons were able to use the territory of Turkmenistan to return home freely, the Ambassador noted.

In conclusion, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani once again thanked the Turkmen side for its assistance, emphasizing that, thanks to its policy of permanent neutrality, Turkmenistan remains one of Iran’s most important and reliable partners in the region.
