More than 250 young athletes aged 7 to 12 took part in the children’s football festival “CAFA NOWRUZ-2026,” held in Ashgabat on the football field of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management.

The sporting event, dedicated to the National Spring Holiday—International Nowruz Day, was organized by the Football Federation of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA).

The festival was aimed at implementing state programs in the fields of sports and youth policy, in particular promoting a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation, popularizing grassroots football in the country, and strengthening regional sports cooperation.

The organizers prepared a series of activities designed to engage children in regular sports participation and to develop their physical potential. As part of the event, the young footballers demonstrated technical skills, a will to win, and teamwork abilities.

“Such initiatives are an important stage in building the country’s sports reserve and introducing young people to the values of active recreation,” noted representatives of the organizing committee.

At the conclusion of the competitive program, an award ceremony was held. All participants of the “CAFA NOWRUZ-2026” festival received commemorative gifts on behalf of the organizers.
