The Turkmen state institute of architecture and construction announced the winners of the V Open international internet Olympiad on the discipline «Resistance of materials», held among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad.

According to the results of the competition, students of domestic universities won 106 prizes, the holders of which worthily represented the Turkmen state institute of architecture and construction, the Institute of engineering, technical and transport communications of Turkmenistan, the State energy institute of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen agricultural university named after S.A. Nyyazov, the International university of oil and gas named after Y. Kakayev, the Turkmen agricultural institute and other universities of the country.

Among the foreign participants, 165 winners and prize-winners representing universities of PRC, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Romania, Malaysia, Australia and Uganda were determined. Students from China, who won 101 prizes, were particularly distinguished among them at the competition site.

The Olympiad was held on the 18th of March in a remote format in Turkmen, English and Russian in the form of individual competitions. The participants were asked to solve 6 tasks in 120 minutes. The Olympiad jury included professors and teachers from Turkmen and foreign universities.

This year's Olympiad brought together 877 students from 63 universities in 15 countries, including Australia, Germany, Romania, USA, Malaysia, China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Uganda and Pakistan.

Students of various specialties and courses of study performed at the competition site, who demonstrated a high level of training. Teachers and students had the opportunity to exchange professional experience and advanced techniques for solving complex engineering problems.

At the end of the major event, the organisers thanked all the participants for their interest and will to win. The Institute expressed special gratitude to colleagues from foreign universities for their active assistance in organising the international event.

The Olympiad has been successfully and effectively held by the Turkmen university for the fifth year in a row and is gaining popularity among young people. The competition is an effective platform for supporting young talents, motivating students to study exact sciences, expanding and strengthening friendly relations, developing intercultural communication, sharing knowledge and experience, and building strong ties between representatives of the global academic community.
